Sad feasting.

So we've had a rough couple of weeks here at the Schneider house. Nora and Charlotte have been taking turns being sick. Here is a picture of my Charchar too sick and tired, laying on the floor eating her little crackers after I gave them to her. Notice her bucket, she travels with it in case she needs to use it.
So yesterday was Charlotte's thanksgiving feast at school and while she doesn't have a upset stomach anymore, she has moved to having a stuffy nose and cough. So we took the morning off and went to school in the afternoon to drop off our contribution (homemade mac & cheese for 60 people!) for the feast. Char did not want to walk in with her class and sing so we took a seat at our table and watched the other kids perform. She didn't want to leave, but she didn't want to participate. Then it ended early, so we still had to wait around for Nora's class to end. We all came home and Char slept the rest of the day away.
Today- Nora's feast.
Charlotte very ill. Craig can't take off to watch Char or go see Nora, so I'm doing both duties. Nora was SOO cute and proud today in her pilgrim hat and so cute showing everyone the cookies her mommy made. I wanted to cry. Charlotte was crying because she was sick and did not want to be there. So on one hand, I want to cry because I have a sick 3yr old flailing her arms and crying, " I wanna go home!!" and I feel like the worst mother having her out when she is sick, probably passing cooties (people were giving us looks, she looks sick and kept coughing!) and on the other hand I want to cry because I have a happy shiny 4yr old who wants everyone to know her mama made the cookies and cupcakes. What a day!

Even my dog is giving me the hairy eyeball today! Today was just one of those days.

uncanny resemblance

Who does this remind you of?

Got the cleaning blues.

So I spent the evening cleaning out my closet and I did some major purging and I must admit it looks spectacular!
Nora and Char found these scarves in a misbegotten corner of my closet and think the scarves make them look German. Nora is being a German girl and Charlotte is her German dog, their words not mine.
I just think they're funny and I had to get a picture with my goofs.
Last weekend I cleaned out the pantry and it is so organized. I don't think I've made any astounding meals since then, but I have a few ideas! LOL.
So I asked Craig what was next on my list of things to clean this weekend and he told me I have to conquer the laundry room. Which is not in bad shape at all. So I'm hanging in here on the computer and Craig is probably on his umpteenth task of the day. If you know the German, you know I'm not joking. He already installed a new toilet in our master bath before 9:30am. We made a trip to home depot for grout for the kitchen back splash and a trip to Napa auto for a new battery for his tractor. Which I think he is painting right now so he can list it on craigslist this weekend. So toilet, battery installed, painting happening, and then back splash. It's not even 3:00 yet. Geesh...gotta love the German bear, but it makes me think I should stop bragging about my closet. I've made him look at it several times already. He must think I'm semi-? (fill it in...this is a PC blog!)

I wonder if I'm feeling ambitious enough to clean the girls playroom. Granted, it will be completely destroyed before the weekend is out and that can be disheartening. But conquer it I will because I think Craig may secretly like touring my hard work!
Did I mention we went to Hooters for lunch? Buy 20, get 10 free wings on Saturday. We mixed it up, 3mile, Daytona, & Garlic Parmesan wings and I think that may have been a bad combo. My gut hurts and I have major heartburn. This may seriously impede my cleaning. Will the German buy this?
ETA: Nora stung by bee on her ring finger today. One month ago, Charlotte was stung on her calf. Craig was stung two months ago right under his eye. Those bees are going to get me good when it's my turn! So far, I've remained unscathed and I know what you're thinking....I DO go outside. I mean, who else would take those pictures of Craig working! ;)

Tough crowd all around!

I haven't been blogging lately because my kids have been tag teaming with upset stomachs. Nora must have picked up a cootie at Chuck e Cheese last Friday. She was sick Saturday-Monday. School pictures for Char on Tuesday and school pictures on Wednesday for Nora. Thursday I was the helper for the 3yr old movement class. Charlotte was certainly surprised to see me!
So here we are on Friday and Char has an upset stomach. So we plan on having a very low key weekend and hopefully sell more stuff on craigslist. So here we are eating some bland animal crackers and drinking water for breakfast. Then later we want to make some crafts for the table for Thanksgiving. We'll be back later.
Nora doesn't have jaundice just orange highlighter on her face!

I've never seen this kid before because he must kept locked up like wolfboy or whoever, but Enough with the long locks on boys.
Celine Dion...you are seroiusly wacked! Creepy that you married that old man who was your manager, but let's not drag the kid down!

are you in blog depression since the election?

Ha ha! Thanks sister for the laugh! Not really. I've been spending less time on computer and not watching the news/pundits. I've been playing with my children and scrapbooking all our Halloween pictures. So playing and getting crafty with my girls has lessened the anxiety of the liberal left wing America that is coming.
Nora and Charlotte made some bread for their sandwiches using our bread machine. I haven't used it since forever and it was fun for the kids. They put all the ingredients in and pushed the button to start the machine. They took a lot of pride in the finished product and it tasted very good too.

Virginia Voters!

Walking out after voting around 11:00 this afternoon. We were offered free candy by the Obama supporters, but this family held strong and walked on by. Granted the girls weren't paying attention to the Obama table but I denied the free chocolates! Strong Republican!
Craig voted at 7am and actually had to wait in an hour long line.
Nora's "I voted" sticker and she also received one for her Webkinz kangaroo.
Charlotte and her "I voted" sticker.
The second best part of our day after voting of course was trading in our stickers for free chicken sandwiches at Chick-fil-A. YEAH! Craig informed us of this cool thing because he went at lunch to get his sandwich. We were lucky and found a spot to park and waited in a long line to get our sandwiches.
Awesome free sandwiches with waffle fries!
Yummo! So we have received 3 pro-McCain calls today. First McCain called, then Robert Duvall, then a random GOPer to tell us to make sure we voted! This is very exciting. Must watch TV now. Polls close in one hour here in VA!

Trick or Treat

It was SO difficult to get a picture of the girls last night before they set off trick or treating with their dad. Use the flash, get red eyes, use nighttime setting, get blurred photos, and no flash results in this. Luckily Craig took pictures too and they came out awesome. Just make due with my murky photos for now.

After I got the kids all ready, photos on front steps taken by mom and dad, perfect time to leave at dusk, Craig goes back into the house to make two turkey sandwiches to eat while he's walking the girls around. I almost busted my gut! "What are you doing!" " Why didn't you do this earlier, it's time to go!" "You always find something to do at the last second and it makes me crazy!" My 4yr old daughter pulled me aside to tell me to take it easy. Seriously. She put me on the stairs for a timeout, basically told me to mind my manners! God love her!

ETA: Check out this fun costume this mom made. Good idea.
