Hello again.

Hello blog world.

Sorry I've been a stranger. I feel like I have been busy, but now that I think about it, I should have blogged!

We had Nora's big birthday bash on Saturday and it was a spectacular smash. About 15 kids, plenty of adults, and too many silly fun things to cram in! I'm in the process of editing photos from the party to work on a little min-album for Nora. After the party, I thought of all the missed opportunities to take photos. We had some great balloons set up all over the house and outside and I regret I didn't get some photos of them. Such is life. But Nora had a blast and a good time was had by all.

So this is a picture of a five year old! On the actual birthday, Tuesday, we went off to Champs for dinner and had the balloon man make Miss Nora a little mermaid balloon. Then we proceeded to Limited Too, so the girls could pick out their umpteenth webkinz. We've had more than our share of cake this month, and Nora had colorful cupcakes on Saturday that we opted to have ice cream sundaes to end our birthday celebrations.
On Thursday we went to the park with our friends and had super time enjoying this strangely nice weather in February. We started off the day with parent/teacher conferences at preschool. Both girls are doing excellent. I went alone so I asked Charlotte's teacher to make a copy of her report for Craig and I forgot to ask Nora's teacher to do the same.

The meeting before mine ran late so I had a very fast and kinda abrupt meeting with Nora's teacher. She assured me Nora was a very sweet girl, she could tell she was very loved by her family, and she was doing very well with her skill sets. I need to ask for a copy of her report because several things did not make sense to me. One she told me Nora needed to work on her phone number.
Wrong! If there's one thing Nora knows is her phone number! We worked on that number a lot. I made it into a song and it's very easy for her to remember. So I corrected the teacher on the spot and she remembered that Nora does indeed know her number because Nora told her teacher her number so I could go get her at school so she could hang with her cousins when they were here!
Another thing That didn't ring true was that Nora could not pull groupings together. If she had a group of 12 blocks, teacher would ask her to remove 5 blocks, she had trouble.
What?
So we pulled out the above Lego's, I asked Nora to make a pile of 4 green, two orange......
she did it all with no problems. I asked her to pull out seven, how many were left, what number of what color, etc. She did it.

So I initially thought it was a good meeting, but the more I go over it...I'm confused. So next week, I'm going to ask for a copy of her notes as well, so I can go over them.
She got two things wrong with my Nora and I'm definitely curious on what else we're at odds on?

The cousins are here!

We have been shopping our fool heads off since our cousins are in town for a big visit! On this day, Charlotte had enough and nodded off with her new webkinz from SueSue!
When we're not shopping, we 're having all sorts of fun! Yes, we went bowling and we loved it. Nora and Charlotte now want to go bowling every night! We had a ringer among us, our Lulu happens to be an excellent bowler and beat the pants off of all of us. Well, I guess Craig caught up at the end, but she destroyed the rest of us!

Yum. Pink chocolate and rice crispy treats. Holy smokes, must make those. I found these in a candy shop in colonial Williamsburg today and I vowed to make them some time soon!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's some quick shots from yesterday! I'm trying to size the pictures on my camera and I better go back and learn how to do it correctly because they are very small!

Right now, Craig has taken the girls to a birthday party and I am cooking a Thanksgiving worthy meal for my sweet nieces who are coming to stay with us for a week. If that wasn't cool enough it is also Madeleine's 16th birthday and she's spending it with us! Yippee! We'll be back with more posts later!

It's somebody's birthday

It's Craig's birthday today! He's getting dinner out and then some cupcakes. I made an altered frame with a picture of the girls for him and a very simple birthday card. I've been a beast this week trying to get the valentines made, planning for Lulu's birthday, and then Nora's birthday that Craig's birthday always sneaks up on me! Here's to a happy day, I'd say something sweet like "I love you" but he never reads my blog. He figures he lives it!

Yucky poo poo

Still feeling yuck after this weekend with this cold. I'm moving into week 2 with it. I decided last night I need some Tylenol pm cold medicine to fall asleep and I had to wake Craig to make sure he didn't take any first. We both can't be knocked out senseless at night!
So I'm still feeling blah, but I am definitely digging this picture of my P on the playground yesterday. This was taken by Craig and it's a stunner!

Little Obsessions

Why a picture of these cookies? Because I've been obsessed with them all day! I bought them this morning on impulse at Walmart because they just pulled out a fresh rack of cookies. I ate no breakfast and I was shopping at noon and I was starving! I loaded my groceries and pulled out two to eat. Holy Moley! I am in love. I'm in love with a cookie.
Nora and hopefully a long love affair with books and reading!

I know this is a bad picture, but I love Pip's little expression! Kiss those little cheeks off!

Little Musings

Nora opened her birthday presents early from SueSue because her mommy was anxious to see what new clothes she got! Love them! I have to find a long sleeve t somewhere so Nora will wear her sweaters, they itch. So I heard.
Mommy...take my picture!
Don't have to ask me twice! I'm right on that...I'm also liking this cheesy grin that came out of nowhere and it stayed for maybe two pictures and she was gone!

Pinky took a bath tonight. I love when she smells like coconuts!

Hello scrappy critics! You know who you are!!
Do you like the redo! What do you see now, I don't know if I can handle it!

There's also a very cool sketch contest going on at the blog.

Hope you don't mind....you're beautiful and a fairy godmother!

Holy smokes! Where is the time going?! My little Nora is going to be 5 this month!!!!
